Profile

Christopher Keeling has been a research scientist at the Canadian Forest Service’s Laurentian Forestry Centre since 2017.

His research program centres on understanding the molecular mechanisms of host colonization and plant-insect interactions in forest systems, such as plant defences, tolerance or detoxification of host defences, and pheromone biosynthesis.  He studies both the insect and the tree, and uses the tools of genomics, molecular biology, biochemistry, and chemistry to understand these interactions.
