Urban Forestry
Urban and near-urban forestry refers to the science and / or management of the trees, forests and associated organisms within the urban forest, including their uses, establishment, and resilience for economic, environmental, social, and public health benefits.
This branch of forestry includes techniques, and policy to manage urban and near-urban forests to produce ecosystem services (e.g., cooling effect) and mitigate ecosystem disservices (e.g., fire risk management) for human and ecosystem health.
