Abstract
Nature is full of amazing interactions and associations. The tiny wasp Tranosema rostrale, a natural enemy of the spruce budworm, is involved in one such “partnership” which holds promise for the forest sector. Canadian Forest Service researchers are studying how this parasitic wasp-which helps to keep spruce budworm populations in check naturally-colonizes its host.
