Silvicultural control of diseases

  1. Control the disease caused by the European race of scleroderris canker (G. abietina) by evaluating the health and pruning red pine trees.
  2. Control white pine blister rust (C. ribicola), an exotic disease, by evaluating stand health and pruning eastern white pines.
  3. Develop silvicultural prescriptions for spruce plantations infected with I. tomentosus.
  4. Verify tests to eradicate H. annosum in red pine plantations that are not severely affected.
