Description:
- 10 - 25 cm
- carapace is brown with many yellowish lines resembling contour lines
on a map, posterior edges of carapace are notched
- head, neck and legs have parallel yellow lines
- yellow, triangular shaped spot found behind each eye
Habitat:
- slow moving rivers, ponds and marshes with soft bottoms and half submerged
logs for basking
Conservation concerns, distribution and status:
- locally common in southern Ontario
